First spot in 2021. Hope it will be not as bad as 2020... I will buy a new equipment this year: probably Nikon D7500 + 18-140 lens. (?) What do you guys think? What the best camera for car spotting?

I have a D7500 and like it very much. It depends on where you're coming from, but in my case it was a 9-year-old D300 so it was a step forward. I wouldn't go for a 18-140. A lens with such a big range is never a good idea, you'll always lose out on quality. If your budget is tight, go for a Nikon 24-85 VR or a Sigma 17-70 f2.8-f4

@Ritthem-Gespot, @Jeroen - Thank you both for your advise. It will be upgrade from Nikon D5100 as its on use since 2014 and it has some dificulty to make sharp photos of driving cars..(thats why i want to have camera with fast focusing)
I need lens with wider range because on same my favourite spotting places are cars in far distance frome me (from example in Bratislava - https://www.autogespot.com/chevrolet-camaro-ss/2020/12/24)
But probably i wll buy one of recommended lenses as a second hardware

Great find! Awesome to see another spotter wants to upgrade his gear to improve his quality. All because of our hobby. Car spotting. I'm afraid I can't help you with Nikon. I'm a Canon guys. Owning the fullframe 6d MkII and several professional L series lenses. All for the love of car spotting.
You definitely going to need a polarization filter. Also I prefer to have a fixed aperture on zoomlenses. The lower the better. But also the lower means the higher the price mostly.
