The name Alfieri comes from one of the Maserati brothers. He was an engineer and founded ‘Officine Alfieri Maserati’ in Bologna about a century ago. The Alfieri is created in the Maserati Centro Stili in Torino by a group of talented young designers. One of the most fascinating cars ever, the A6 GCS-53, was an inspiration for the designers. The car was an icon back in the days. Its special design, the enormous hood and compact interior give the car unique proportions. The Alfieri concept 2+2 is based on the chassis of the GranTurismo MC Stradale. The wheelbase is shortened with 24 centimeters to give the car the proportions of a real supercar. Maserati is doing very well in this tough economic times. The ambitious plan to expand was a very good idea. The introduction of the Ghibli resulted in a growth of 150 percent in just one year. In 2012, 6.200 cars were sold and last year this grew up to 15.400 copies.
